if you know the carbon cycle, why did you claim that breathing causes a change to the planet?
Was it a misunderstanding or a mistake?

Hello; QUOTE myself this is what i wrote. " CO2 which is a part of the life cycles for the living things on the planet is not evil."

Hello; Unfortunately, if they ever do get absolute control the dragging folks off because of ideology will not be out of the question. We saw the lack of humanity and decency from those in power during Covid lockdowns. Arresting people surfing or walking a dog alone outside in the sun light and open air. Too real.
Oh yeah it was brutal. I remember churches being closed because COVID you know. I was immune compromised because I was going through my 2nd round of chemo and never wore a mask got COVID and I’m still here. There’s a definite sadness when some folks (like myself) when they realize they are going to die from an incurable disease do we really start living. I haven’t wore a mask I won’t ware a mask and I was still going to church every Sunday. How many folks would scorn at me or say something until I told them about my condition/situation and they realized their fear and take their mask off. Same with this whole “green deal” people are so afraid to die. If you’re that afraid to die how much more are you afraid to truly live?

He is wasting his time 'replying' to me as I ignore him.
As much as I disagree with you or others on this subject, and probably many others, I wouldn’t block you. My ability to discern engagement is a type of intellectual maturity. Not taking a dig, that’s more of a self reflection.

I don’t blame you. It’s easier then having to slink away in the corner while licking your wounds, every time I respond to your ignorant posts. By the way, how come you‘re always so grumpy? :cwl:

You seem to have drifted off into some sort of rant so let's bring it back to where we started.

You said why should you bother about changing when China and India are so terrible regarding CO2 etc.

It was pointed out that actually compared to you (and the US) they were not so bad and not only that but their investment in renewables was very significant with the largest EV market in the world (China) and the largest EV car production in the world.

You completely ignored this and went off on one time and again about anybody who disagreed with you being some sort of China lover and then just rambling on about the Church and propaganda. As you can imagine this makes things somewhat difficult when it comes to a structured discussion.

So let's make it easy:

Do you accept that the US is a MUCH worse generator of CO2 as per the evidence provided?

Do you accept that China is the biggest EV market in the world?

I'm not asking you to say China is wonderful but lets just cover off some facts shall we?

Intellectual maturity is something that was completely missing from those I blocked. Trolls serve no purpose.

Hello; Can hardly wait for the cryptic response and the likely spin as to how these facts do not count. I will try to imitate.

You all are too dumb to understand. What idiots! Cannot even understand that building wind generator parts and EV's is the important thing. China has promised to clean up their act in 50 or so years. China has long range plans to be very green eventually. They are only having short term super polluter status. Their heart is in the right place, while you morons just want to keep driving ICE gas guzzlers like my Mustang V8 GT.
Come on now. Either you don’t understand the natural carbon cycle or you’re being deliberately obtuse. As a former science teacher I’d like to think that you understand it. But the other side of me thinks that you aren’t trolling, and instead missed an entire section of “how the world works”.
I can’t think of a third option here.

Anyways, here’s the seminar you missed. We will educate you properly one way or the other. You’re welcome

What were we saying earlier about uninformed opinions?
Hello; You win. On top of being the genuine thing you got in more putdowns. Congratulations.

This was already answered by someone you blocked. I can share his post if you want word for word but then again it wouldn’t be an original post. Which I would have posted the same he just beat me to it.

" According to the 2021 World Air Quality Report, out of 1,374 cities located in East Asia, 143 (or about 11%) recorded annual average PM2.5 concentrations that are seven times greater than World Health Organization (WHO) standards. All of them were located in China, with the town of Hotan in southwestern Xinjiang experiencing the highest level of pollution in the country at about 101 µg/m³, over 20 times the WHO guideline value.

Estimated to cause an average of 1.2 million premature deaths every year, China’s poor air quality is primarily attributed to the rapid economic expansion the country experienced since 1979, which resulted in a drastic increase in coal-powered industrial production and electricity demand, as well as an exponential rise in private vehicles. It is estimated that roughly 48% of Chinese CO2 emissions come from the industrial sector, with 40% from the power – mainly coal – and 8% from the transport industry. With an ever-increasing population, the demand for electricity has grown with no respite, leading to even more coal-burning and worsened air standards."
........

"Furthermore, despite pledging to reach net zero emissions before 2060, the country remains by far the world’s largest producer and consumer of coal, which alone covers 60% of its electricity demand. In an effort to restore the economy to pre-pandemic levels and curb the energy crisis sparked by the exponential rise in industrial activities the country experienced in 2021, the Chinese government ordered factories to increase their production capacity and built more than triple the amount of new coal power capacity as the rest of the world combined. Unsurprisingly, CO2 emissions in the same year almost reached 12 billion tonnes, accounting for 33% of the global total."
..........

"
High on the list of environmental issues in China is water pollution. As much as 90% of the country’s groundwater is contaminated by toxic human and industrial waste dumping, as well as farm fertilisers, causing about 70% of rivers and lakes to be unsafe for human use. Nearly half of the population does not have access to water that is safe for human consumption, while two-thirds of the rural population has to rely on tainted water due to a lack of adequate systems to treat wastewater."
Hello; On any reasonable scale building wind turbines and EV's hardly evens out for the pollution happening now and it seems will continue for decades to come.

Perhaps not the only point but a valid point is given the decades of ongoing pollution of China and likely India, then why be in such an all fired hurry to mandate anti-fossil fuel and pro EV agendas in parts of the west.
Not so much that it is OK to keep on polluting just because China will keep on polluting. It is instead that the new green & EV agendas are premature and cannot yet carry the current loads much less the ever-increasing loads if EV's do come to dominate. These EV and green mandates may well bankrupt us on top of leaving us cold in the dark and without adequate transportation.
WE will need coal, oil, natural gas to keep our societies going. Food and essential services are a far questionable thing if we abandon fossil fuels too soon. The green and EV's are not yet proven and reliable. They work in a few places and applications but far too few to make up the difference. To keep using fossil fuels may not be an idea you favor, but such will be needed for some time to come.
China is playing us for suckers because of pseudo-true believers such as yourself. Now put me on ignore if you have not already and go to your safe place and hug your Mustang GT V8.

Hello; His having some on ignore is another illustration of faulty reasoning. Does make things somewhat more entertaining. The same sort of faulty reasoning abounds when he selectively only accepts some linked facts of his own and rejects others outright. I still think his "heads he wins and tails we lose" gambit after his loss in the natural immunity discussion is one of his better, but twisted, comebacks.

I have tried to personally asses @Gregs24 and I’ll be the first to say it was wrong. With that said I can only speak for me. I don’t like to block people unless they become belligerent and completely disrespectful. I left a forum because one individual got completely unacceptably disrespectful and mods wouldn’t do anything about it. So I removed myself from the situation. Didn’t want to resort going to a friend, so he’d hunt his info through the net, and get a google view of his house and post it on the forum. Old team mate of mine who heads a department at Iridium.
