Gibson Catback

Was browsing late model restoration and saw this:

Anyone install this system? Their pics show an x pipe but the install document shows a mid muffler. Is Gibson a decent brand? Certainly is cheaper compared to the Borla system out there.

Thinking about it... Like the idea of not having to cut the exhaust.

This looks pretty good. Almost half off the other current cat back exhausts for the v6.

I guess I will go for it sometime between now and Christmas, but unfortunately I don't find any sound clip.

Just some from 2014 and it only no stainless axle back, so it's not really a good reference.

GT sounds great but we all know has 2 extra cylinder... ;)

Yeah that's for sure. And i could not find any sound clips either. I figured i will just wing it and probably get it for myself on Christmas. Who ever gets it first should post a sound clip.

Just for reference I've got the Gibson on my v8 and I like it. Good deep rumble that's not overpowering, slight bit of drone up top.

couple of small oval straight through muffs with quad tios on stock exhaust..hardly and drone. sounds much deeper in person

Look in the development thread on this forum by icarumba, its a few pages in. I'm definitely giving this some serious thought, it's less than half the cost of the Borla.

Looks really nice and sounds good. Did you have to cut the rear valence to fit quad tips?

yeah i had to cut and grind the valance quite a bit. but i do stuff like that all the time at work so i wasnt too worried about it.

Any tips or tricks I'm gona do the qaud tips just wanna know how much or what needs to be cut

i mostly cut outboard. its hard to say really...depends on the tips. best results with a dremel and a sanding drum
