They lie... .I ordered on 11/24... still In Order Processing... Build date of
possibly 1/26. EDD? Who the hell knows. There are some on here who
ordered back in May/June/July that are just NOW getting their cars.

Yes it is frustrating... I have never waiting this long.. and it is agonizing.

It sucks waiting..but, at least you'll have the latest build. If they're anything like my plant, supplier issues can wreak havoc on schedules. Sure, we can get 10,000 of those to you by next week. Uh huh...

So I just ordered a Deep Impact Blue V6 Convertible last night. They said it would take ten weeks. At one point, Sales mgr said he would move it to #1 or something like that. I have no idea what that means or if it was just sales BS. From what I have gathered talking to several dealers about availability, it seems when a particular dealer orders a car, it's slot in the build schedule depends on that dealer's next allocation opening. So if one dealer historically sells a lot a particular model, Mustangs in this case, they get allotted more of those models. My (Silicon Valley area) sales mgr said that they were not a big dealer nor small, but they do sell a lot of Mustangs, so they get allocated more than a lot of dealers.

When I was plopping down my $500 deposit, I noticed the order said 'Priority code: 19'. I joked to him, "Hey, I thought you said you would make me #1!" He said that was #1. That the higher the number the better. Anyone know what this Priority number means?

I wonder if the factory needs to bundle specialty cars (like convertibles) to run down the line together because maybe the production line needs to be reset for them. I was told 10 weeks, which would put me at at about March 16.

Have people seen a correlation between delivery promises or actual times based on the size/volume of their dealership? I drove 1:20 to see and test drive my first 2015 convertible. I knew it was not the color I wanted, but obviously had to see and drive this car before commiting to Fly to L.A. to buy the Conv. V6 only Deep Impact Blue V6 w/ 050A group actually on a dealer lot in Calif.

Bottom line... any insights from your experience (or your crystal ball? ;) of how to read the tea leaves on a particular car from a given dealer (size/volume) about wait time is appreciated. :)

My order was in COTUS 12/19, still waiting for a VIN. I would be happier than a pig in mud if I got my car by the end of Feb., I have my doubts.

The "best" priority you can get is 10. The "worst" is 99 (a 99 priority order will never actually be made; it's a placeholder order number until the dealer decides to shift the car to production). A 19 priority is a retail order that's behind previous orders (which may have already been filled) that particular dealer put in.

Actually the best Priority you can get is a 1 (Only Ford can give an order this priority). The best priority you can get from a Dealer without Ford's say so is a 10.

So is the priority # based on the priority for that specific dealer's placed orders? Like each car they order gets the 'next' Priority # of the orders they have written from their dealer? SO if someone entered an order 15 minutes before my salesman hit enter, They would be Priority #18?

Then I'd guess being a convertible, it will likely have less flexibilty as to it's build date. That maybe all convertibles get batched together in groups of 'x'. Where 'x' might be 'y' # of days of the (or a) production line.

Again I say, we gotta get a mole into the Flat Rock plant. Any volunteers? ;)

Could be but in general orders that get 19 priority are X-Plan orders.

So Googling, X-Plan seems to be an employee discount. Can dealers just give that rating priority to all or many of it's customer's orders? Or do they have a list of their dealership's employees and assign those (2 per employee) slots to customers until they run out. Seems a ford employee can give two of these to someone per year. I guess they actually did do me a favor by giving me an X-Plan Priorty 19. Very Cool!

You should see something in the next week or two, you ordered when everything was shutting down for holidays so there will be a bit of a wait, i think end of Feb is quite possible though if it goes through like it should.
