Geico Mechanical Breakdown Insurance

Does anybody have any experience with Geico MBI? I was told it would cover claims where the factory warranty is voided, such as after a tune.

I found someone's contract online. It doesn't cover loss due to alterations to the car (18 under exclusions). If you want to mod nothing is going to cover damage/warranty issues.

I was told I had to list alterations and that power train was covered for a tune as long as internals weren't changed or altered because those are installed by the factory. Checked an import forum and they seem to talk about the Geico MBI coverage often and never seem to have a claim denial. I know MBI covered my ram when I flooded the engine in a storm.

I think it's running a risk "because other's on the internet say so" honestly. You can try but they may deny repairs later down the road.

I've never had my dealer deny because of a tune and this will be my 3rd brand new Mustang. But it also sounds like they are trying to get more strict.
