I know of one that uses 4:10 and on track that is very noticeable coming out of the corners.

People without experience in cars with strong gearing have know idea how much better an 8000rpm small block is with aggressive rear gearing. The car has more mechanical advantage and these 350s aren’t light, so the additional wheel torque and getting into powerband much quicker to be responsive.
And even when not driving aggressively, the car will be MUCH better driving around town.
Been there, done that.
