We know how to set the middle gauge to be in "Engineering Test Mode".
One of the screens looks like the attached picture. Research says this stands for AVERAGE FUEL (Consumption) Bias. Apparently, the owner can adjust the average fuel consumption to be higher or lower if the actual consumption differs from what the system is calculating. Personal experience is that the calculation of average miles per gallon overstates my fuel economy by about 5.0%. In other words, if for a tank of gas the fuel computer shows that the car averaged 21 miles per gallon, the actual miles per gallon was really only 20.0.
Anyone played with the "BIAS" setting to recalibrate for this kind of error?
