So, I am replacing my OE Motorcraft belt after 15k miles. It's starting to develop a chirp. Gonna check pulley alignment and bearings this weekend. But, I was curious about a couple of belts from Gates. It's their RPM series belts. Problem is they don't have a direct cross from the K060675 to an RPM version. But, here are the numbers from Gates and Motorcraft...

Motorcraft: JK6-682
Circumference = 68.25"
Pitch Length = 67.5"

Gates Replacement: K060675 or K060675HD(Green Belt)
Circumference = 68.05"
Pitch Length = 67.5"

Gates Racing: K060680RPM
Circumference = 68.567"
Pitch Length = 68"

Gates Racing: K060667RPM
Circumference = 67.254"
Pitch Length = 66.69"

The closest RPM belts are .5" longer or .8" shorter. What do you guys think?
I ordered a K060675HD, but would like to try an RPM. Maybe I'll call them or send an e-mail.

I talked to Chad at Gates today. It seems they're willing to make an RPM belt for our Mustangs.

Quote: "We can definitely get a K060675RPM belt set up though. It should be ready for a February release."

I'll let you guys know as I find out more info...

Looks like we will be getting a Gates RPM belt in February. I followed Gates on their FB page, GatesAuto. Chad said they announce new products there when they are released.

I also found out that my tensioner had some unusual movement in it. It seemed to want to twist under load and shift in the housing. So, I bought a Gates tensioner (PN 39298) and idler (PN 36499). The Ford tensioner had Dayco stamped into the pulley, FWIW.
