Yeah, they might drop in 4 years. But stupid does as stupid is, so don't count the chickens before they hatch...

Cali, saying 400 beans gas price relief payments for Cali car owners. Now ain't that so appropriate for that state.

Spend the taxpayer's money, throwing it in the street. Then they will turn right around and raise taxes to cover costs.

Stupid is as stupid does......poster state. :computerrage:
Yeah,....that's what you call insanity.
I think this may happen in other states besides Commiefornia. Thank God for the government!! 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Hello; Back around 1999 there was a period of gas at $1.00/gallon. I recall as i took a job near Wilmington NC and was driving back to KY four or five times a year. Pretty sure I saw 99 cents a gallon for a bit, but right at a dollar for sure.
Really? Possible, but I don't remember that at all and I was delivering pizza at the time. Maybe I wasn't paying attention though. I do remember telling my parents I remember when gas was like 75 cents a gallon and my dad said impossible as it hasn't been that low since I was a baby, which was around 1970.

Gas price drops below $1 - Feb. 21, 1999 (cnn.com)

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
Even with the up and down swings of demand, war in Ukraine, EU concerns over supply and such the oil futures are predicting $3 gal gas by Labor day. I wouldn’t want to be an oil executive trying to figure out if their company should expand drilling and exploration or just sit tight and gather up additional profits now. In any event, it doesn’t appear we are headed towards $200/barrel pricing. Hopefully, we will see moderating gas prices.

Prices going down?!?!
LMFAO

I paid 40 cents more a gallon for the 89 octane for the truck this morning. $5.20 a gallon.
It's fucking sickening and infuriating.

OH ! so are they going to drop back Trump's gas price. If that answer is NO the prediction is wishful thinking and useless babble.

10% ain't shit, the perfect example of what is wrong.

The only way for prices to drop to those levels would require another pandemic and another one plus million dead. Can’t wait.

Prices where I’m at went up over 45 cents this week alone. Depending on where you buy 87 octane is $4.50 and 91 is $5.20 gallon. Diesel is about $5.60. It is really hitting my wallet and makes me sick. The poor and middle class are the ones hurting the most. The transportation companies are passing the additional costs on to the consumer. I thought the dems were going to help us out. That is at least what they ran on. I guess they are just delusional.

Still going to stand by my prediction.

“That is about where it should be with a week lag time in prices. Gas is up 10% in the last week. I think another 10% by mid April is reasonable if nothing changes.
National averages.
April 4.25-4.50
May 4.75-5.00
June 5.00-5.50
July 5.50-6.50
This is the possibility but who the hell knows about the reality.”
Where I’m at this looks like a very real possibility in prices.

I am going to assume this is a joke or sarcasm... <babble ?

The pandemic had absolutely nothing to with that. :computerrage:

Need to get out more or at least once a year

Quite frankly we are all delusional if we think the government can control gas prices. In a free world economy where the majority of control is out of this country what exactly do you except them to do?

Neither. You mentioned T's gas price. "T" had nothing to do with it. The price of oil collapsed because of a "worldwide" pandemic. Production dropped drastically because people weren't driving. Covid is still effecting the supply channels which is effecting our price at the pump.

And thank you, I get out plenty. :like:

Right now the reason for high gas and Diesel prices is a direct result of not putting capital into refining operations. You couple that with Russia not shipping refined product and you have a shortage.

This is a problem years in the making with green energy regulations stunting capital spending on energy projects with supply destruction from the pandemic.

I wonder at what price we will see demand destruction? Already smaller trucking firms are collapsing.
What shortage? There is no shortage. We have plenty of gas. That's how you know that policies has nothing to do with this. Supply is fine (yes I know there is a temporary shortage of diesel in the East Coast), demand is us. Prices are crazy. When people park their cars, prices will come back down.

By the Russian imports were a drop in the bucket. Prices started going up before the Ukraine conflict. Worldwide energy costs is what is causing part of this increase, not Russia's gas.

Russia accounted for 20% of our refined products. We will see could price controls and will probably see widespread shortages this summer in the diesel market.

Not good.
I was talking about gas for our cars, not diesel.

And the reason the East Coast was going to Russia for Diesel?

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...sian-diesel-in-years-as-cold-weather-descends

"The U.S. East Coast is especially reliant on imported diesel because refining capacity has shrunk in recent years due to poor marginsand an explosion. Diesel inventories have fallen to the lowest for this time of year since 2014. The Northeast is relying more heavily on oil-fired generators for electricity as natural gas prices have surged.

The other main suppliers to the U.S. are facing problems of their own - Europe is grappling with its energy shortage and refinery outages while Canada was forced to shut an east coast refinery early in the pandemic".

I get that but it’s cost per BTU. However you look at it the cost are rising and trickles down. Diesel has about 15% more BTUs per gallon and should always be 15% more expensive.

Refiners will shift to max Diesel production at the expense of gas production since price per BTU is so much higher.

The end result is high prices anyway you look at it. And if we can predict anything it’s the major predictors have been nothing but wrong in the last year. I expect that to hold true.
Agreed 100%. What has to happen is a reduction in gas consumption. The refineries will switch to diesel if the demand for gas drops. Not holding my breath at this time the year.
