Actually we will see an increase in gas prices very soon. Oil companies will be switching from Winter Mix to summer mix, retooling costs them money and they pass it on to us, the consumers.
But we do get the benefit of better gas mileage with the summer blend. 😳

Absolutely. I have noticed I get better mileage depending on what gas station I use as well. 91 or 93 does not make a difference (87 does, the Mustang runs like crap.) But if I wanted to get good gas mileage I would have bought an ecosport or escape.

Hello; Saw where workers are on strike at a chevron refinery. That likely will put a stop to lower fuel prices.
I do not know their demands but will guess higher wages are a part. You know to combat inflation. I guess it follows in that some parts of the federal government got voted in a 21% pay raise. I do not know how far and to whom the 21% federal pay raise goes at this time.

May be the effect of a higher minimum wage standard leading to increased costs on top of other inflation and the refinery workers want higher wages.

Does not look good for those of us who have no mechanism to raise our income.

It took two seconds to find this. Yes it was for higher wages but only because their local cost of living is so much higher than in other areas. Chevron says the strike will not impact the price of gasoline. I guess we'll see.

Do you ever research anything? 21% federal pay raise? That is false... insanely false. And then you wonder why you are booted from a lot of threads.

Hello; I got that from a brief news story in the last few days. As I said i do not know the extent of the raise mentioned nor who it applies to. I await your links showing how that news story is false.

Also I have lost privilege on only one thread so far. No reason ever given to me as to why so if you have some information beyond mere guessing I am interested.

It seems the notion of inflation and how it plays out is upsetting to a couple of members.

Do your own research... it took me .2 seconds to find out it was false. Google is your friend.

You were the one complaining about threads you were in being shut down and you being booted from threads. I don't know... you complained about it. Now it didn't happen? Okay. Like you failing most of your students that you say didn't happen but I found the thread. Then you had an excuse. I go on what you say.

Inflation? Really? Ha, ha, ha... Oh, boy. I won't even bother wasting my time with a discussion about inflation with you. Look, you don't research and have your own agenda. I get it and that is why I don't bother with you much. You can get the last word.

Spending Bill Includes Pay Raise for Staffers, Not Members of Congress - FactCheck.org

“President Joe Biden signed a $1.5 trillion bill that funds the federal government and provides assistance to Ukraine. Social media posts misrepresent the bill by implying Congress members gave themselves a 21% pay raise. The bill increases House office budgets by 21%, which likely will result in pay raises for staffers — but not for members of Congress.”

Hello; Completely false am I. A reason to ban me from posting for making a false statement. Looks like you are the one making false statements. Does that mean you deserve to be banned from this thread?

NOTE – It took me more than two seconds to find this. Maybe a minute or so. Guess I do not measure up on searches.

Hello; Since you have decided to rant and do personal attacks I find it necessary to respond.
I already took care of the who is correct about the 21% raise. You are in the wrong.

As i stated I have lost privilege on only one thread. The science is canceled thread which I was active in for 600 pages. That I was not following the edicts from above on Covid about natural immunity and vaccine effectiveness did not make my posts incorrect. I do not yet know why my posting privilege was revoked on that thread. Again, I ask if you actually know the reason or is it just that I disagreed with your stance and merely are guessing.

I have been active in some threads which have been totally shut down or removed. There were a number of other members also active at the time. I cannot say one way or another if my comments were the cause of a closed thread. The mods do not tell us.

Not sure why you misconstrue my remarks on some failing students. To be brief I gave some students the failing grades deserved. The school principal took it upon himself to pass those students. The next term when a number of students failed I handed the principal blank grade change forms with my signature on them so he could change the grades deserved without dragging me thru the entire process.

Inflation from a government spending too much money, from higher minimum wages, from shutdown policies which disrupt whole economies have a bearing on fuel prices.

Hello; I was staying focused when I posted about a strike in a chevron refinery. The side track came about when a couple of members decide to do personal attacks. That they have attacked me personally on other occasions and in other threads is part of a pattern. They are ready to jump on my posts and do so.
I try to stay on topic but will defend against personal attacks.

Actually Congressional Staffers saw this increase: https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...eal-problem-is-how-it-underpays-junior-staff/

Sorry, not trying to be political, unfortunately there are a lot of market and political factors that go into the price of oil. This is not one of those, but the topic came up and thought this was worth mentioning.

No whining here either. We’ve had it easy compared to EU and UK for a very long time.
Imagine being someone who makes $50k-60k/year or less and reading this comment above.

You do realize half the country falls into this category, don't you?

Amazing.

Is that 21%? No.

Second, is it really an increase? Being "eligible" and receiving something are two different things.

The conversation around this is not political unless it is made political by people who spew false information. It gets tiring to read comments from people who don't bother to research anything.

Everything is seen through a political lens from some, no matter the topic. So much the mods have to monitor threads like we are a bunch of children.

Going back to my hole. It is all good...
