I get it, and I understand that the gauge isn't linear, but I can't imagine the 2015 and 2017 having different shaped gas tanks, and the 2015, the light used to come on under 1/8th tank.first you have to remember that 1/4 high in the tank is not neccessarly 1/4 of total volume
ps... my hyundai genesis coupe light would turn on in the same range BUT the light was far less annoying i concede
I also had a 2010 Genesis coupe 2.0T (had it new from 2010 to 2015, traded it in for the 2015 mustang), and I don't remember it coming on at 1/4 tank either... And yes, that was just a yellow light on dash, not a audible tone everytime I start the car.

Ford has been doing this for years. My 2006 Lincoln Mark LT has the same "50 miles to empty".
