Hi,

My 2017 EcoBoost Mustang Garage Opener does not seem to work with Geenie programmable garage opener.

I follow the instructions and I see the light indicate that it found the signal. However, clicking the button after signal is acquired does not move the door.

Please advise,

Thank you,

I know this sounds crazy, but if you have LED bulbs in the opener, replace them with incandescent bulbs. I had the same problem and was instructed to do just as I stated here. Works like a charm.

Somewhere in the forum there was mention of LED bulbs having a certain frequency range that CAN interfere with the garage door opener in our Mustangs. The actual garage door opener worked just fine. But I had changed my lights in the garage door opener to LED and I would push the button and get nothing. The light would flash as it should, but was not opening or closing the garage door.

Changed the LED bulbs out for incandescent (regular) light bulbs and it works just fine.

Hope that helps you out.

So you change the light in the garage door opener of the mustang? Or, the garage lights?

Change the LED bulbs in the thing hanging from your garage ceiling

Got it. What if I don't have LED in there? I will check after work.

Then you may have other issues. As another member mentioned, trying different codes may work also.

Be sure you're following your garage door opener instructions too - some state to just depress the code button and let go while others say to hold the code button for 30 seconds.

The timing of the programming is important with both the actual opener (in garage) and the visor buttons.

I have a genie garage door opener and can't get it to work with my 2016 Mustang GT. Worked fine with my 2013 SHO.

Hi,

I have fixed the issue and it had nothing to do with LED bulbs.

Here is the steps I did to resolve the issue.

Step 1 (where I normally stopped, hence the issue):
1) Erase any codes that may exist by simultaneously clicking and holding the first and third buttons on your visor. Hold for about 20 seconds until the red light over the middle button flashes rapidly

2) Hold your remote (from your garage door opener) near the visor buttons and simultaneously click and hold the button on your visor you want to program along with the remote activated from the garage door opener. Keep in mind to hold the remote near the buttons. Hold these buttons until the red light flashes rapidly.

At this point, I stopped and the garage door wouldnt work. The reason is because what you programmed was the remote to the visor. Now you need to program the visor button to the garage door opener.

Step 2 (program visor button to the garage door opener):
1) Press the learn button on your garage opener
2) You now have 30 seconds to go back to you car and click and hold the visor button you programmed in the previous step. Hold until the garage door begins to move.

Your done.
