I only have 2 jack stands (at the moment) and want to paint my calipers :lipssealed:

G2 says the paint once activated has a 4-6 hr working time, and 2 hr dry time. So even with 3 coats assuming waiting 15 mins between, wouldn't I have enough time to do 1 side (~1 hr), wait 2 hrs to dry (could probably wait less since the wheels don't contact anything?), put the wheels on, then repeat on the other side?

not sure why their site says they don't recommend it

Not sure I would risk that and be rushing... up to you though. I put mine up on 4 stands and did all at the same time and by the time I was done, I felt like it was getting near the end of being usable... I didn't time myself but I think it was around 2.5-3 hours I was out there, might have been longer. Maybe you are faster than myself, either way post up your results when done.

d'oh forgot about cleaning the calipers and taping them off too lol

Guess I'll just wait to get 2 more jack stands with the harbor freight sale next weekend and do it then

red to go with my other red highlights, what about you?

I think it'll pop nice against the bronze wheels, also got these decals

I went with white, just got a black and white theme going here so sticking with it, lol.. I originally was thinking something like a lime green but ended up with the white.

lime green looks good on black, that would have been my 2nd choice

I feel like if going with white/black theme some white tire stickers would compliment it, but most people think that's ricey :giggle:

I'm thinking about repainting mine. I'd like to go from red to purple or orange. Besides cleaning off the dust and grime, do I need to sandblast the red off or will I be fine to paint over the red? I don't mind extra coats for full coverage but if I need to get the old paint off I'll probably just get over it.

The hardener is too much imo. The stuff set up way too quick.

would look way better without a 15091248 spoke wheel

I'd email g2 but their faq says you can touch up your calipers so I'm assuming just clean them well

Ive used G2 twice before. I was able to get 3 coats on all four calipers once I mixed it(Red /Green). I had All 4 wheels prepped and ready to paint. IIRC, I waited 1 hour between coats. That being said I've also used VHT spray (another Mini. Less stress on the time crunch. Neither was superior to the other over time. Both did well.
