Putting a gen 2 from a mustang into a f100, looking to put a Whipple/e85 on it at some point in future. The tank I had built has dual aeromotive 340’s. 6an big enough or do I step up to 8an?

8 AN feed, split to 2, 6AN rails, combined back to one with a regulator and a 6 AN return is sufficient for most street builds.

I wouldn't recommend 2 regulators, too much mechanical difference to contend with between the two banks. Try to keep the total length on each leg the same or similar.

I'd run an 8 feed and an 8 return, 95 percent of the driving the fuel will be returning you don't want excessive pressure there.

IMO that's way overkill. -6 is plenty.
The return line really should be the same size as the feed on a street car, I've learned this about 20 years ago. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion though.

I realize it's popular opinion for the return line to be smaller but they never did the research/data to see why it's not optimal.

I agree, if you have lazy tuning that just leaves the pumps on full boogie all the time, no need to stress the pumps out even more all the time.

I would hope however we've graduated from the dark ages of just leave the AC on full tilt and raise and lower the windows to keep it comfortable.
