Hey everyone! I'm new to this community but I've had my 2015 GT/PP since late October. I finally got my FRPP Sport Cat Back exhaust installed this weekend and I have a couple questions for those of you who have installed this kit on your '15 Mustang yourself: When completely installed (with every joint completely overlapped on the tube before it), did one of the exhaust tips stick out farther than the other?
Once I got the exhaust installed, I went to adjust the tips and noticed the driver side tip didn't stick out from the rear fascia quite as far as the passenger side tip (there was about a 1-1.5" difference). Being a perfectionist, I just had to do something about this. So, I loosened up the intermediary pipe (the one that clamps onto the x-pipe; as this is the only place to adjust overall length on either side by itself) on the driver side and slid it back about an inch or so so the length of the tips would match.
There's approximately a 3.5" overlap at every joint and I'm a bit worried that I had to slide one side back at an overlap like that. Realistically, I'd love for all joints to be completely overlapped but I also want the tips to be even (after all, the tips are what you actually see!). Do you guys think I'm okay leaving it that way or am I asking for trouble with that one joint not completely overlapped as I'm assuming it should be? Could I be missing something else altogether or is there another way to adjust the tip length that I'm overlooking? I'm going to put the car back on the lift today just to make sure everything is still nice and snug so I can snap a few pictures of my predicament if that would help.
I'm going to give the Ford Racing Tech Hotline a call and see what they say regarding this but I also wanted your guys' opinions as there seem to be a lot of you who really know your shit. I'd really appreciate any feedback I can get!
