Front spring removal without spring compressor?

I did one side with and one side without. Sketchy for sure but it cut the time in half.

As a suggestion, just take the whole assembly out and take it to a shop, give them a few bucks, and let them do the dirty work.
Last time I went this route, it took the shop about 30 seconds...

Done spring changes all kinds of ways. If you use a floor jack without a compressor you have to ease the jack down. If it doesn't have that kind of resolution, use a compressor. I used the two piece compressor on the s550. Jack may have been easier.
