Front splitter hardware

Hello folks,

I can't be the only one that needs some of the rivets and hardware replaced. My dealer found everything on their computer but the torx screws that fix the rear of the splitter to the underside plastic pan are not in the system. Mine are ground down so far I can't be certian they are torx but it looks like they are.

Does anyone have a part number for those screws?

I just ordered an R splitter from Autonation of White Bear Lake, MN. I asked them to verify that all of the installation hardware was included. I was told that it is but that if it wasn't that they had a complete hardware list to allow installation. You might try calling them for specific part numbers. And just a suggestion, they have some of the best pricing in the country as well.

I haven't had my car up in the air to specifically look, but my assumption is the splitter would need to be removed for the fix...is that assumption incorrect? The heads of the torx screws get ground down pretty easily.

I agree. I can't remember ever bottoming out, but the last time I had my car on my lift to do an oil change I noticed these fasteners all worn to hell, look like someone took a grinder to most of the heads. They will need to be removed to drop the plastic shield to access the oil cooler lines for the recall, and hopefully new ones will be placed (in some cases they will have to as so damaged will not be reusable).

Hey, on the bright side I'm hoping I get a free oil change out of the recall, there is no way in hell I am letting a Ford Tech drain the oil into some dirty pan, fix the lines, then dump it back into the motor.

Oh! Yes I agree these fasteners will require regular inspection for condition but not required to be replaced because of the recall for the oil cooler.

The rivets are actually much worse than the torx bolts on my splitter. However, by the time one of my fasteners will require replacement I will just replace the spliter as a whole barbecue it will probably be in much worse shape..

But it they take off you splitter to perform the recall fix, then hopefully they will replace the damaged fasteners when the reinstall. Now that won't fix the rivets.

I will definitely need some new hardware. Most tracks have enough character in them to prompt a little rub rub/scape scrape. At least if you drive it how it LOVES to be driven!
