So it looks like you would pry it off right behind the chrome part?It does come of and it's not that difficult.
There are multiple places you can buy the front/rear pony painted any color you want or even lighted.
If you want to go the diy paint route I'd suggest scuffing up the chrome really well and use an etching primer.

I didn't say they were cheap, just that they are available.Yeah. New one 50.00? I don't think so. I'll paint it
Right in the middle of doing it on car. No way I can get to back. Took the top plastic off and there is no room anywhere to get to it in back. Maybe it's a different setup on the pp2 car? Bigger radiator?I didn't say they were cheap, just that they are available.
You don't have to break the tabs off if you're willing to do what it takes to gain access to the back of the grill.
Not sure I'd glue them back on. 3M tape is how everything else is held to the outside of the car anyway.
Prep seems like it would be a pita if it's left on the car.
Pic or it didn't happen. All painted. Looks great. I'll remember that if this doesn't last

I taped it off and used plastidip spray. I did it to all the emblems. The 5.0s looked like crap so I bought black ones. The gt in the rear started chipping after a year so I replaced it too. Surprisingly the front pony still looks great after 2 plus years.
