Hi All,
I've just purchased my 2017 GT in Sydney and as I drive with lighting as 'auto', yellow daytime lighting comes on..
I want to change this to LED white:
- can you confirm if this is the DRL bulb that I need to change?
- which bulb do I need to get? (specs)
- people tell me this is the DRL but the light is actually coming from the long, narrow signal light chamber (which I was told was actually the parking light..)
Did anyone had similar issue?

FYI, bought mine brand new with no mods.

Thanks for all your opinions guys!

I'd recommend Blingworks automotive too.
I got full new interior and exterior bulbs from them for my 2016 GT and they were perfect

Unless you want to delete them and install the tribar DRLs
Okay.. I always wanted this but two things:
- are they legal in NSW? (wondering why US ones have them but we don't)?
- where can I get them and how much is the cost? can I install them myself? I'm a beginner when it comes to installing

They were only illegal in some minor European country and we all paid the price. No export cars had the tribar DRLs. I have studied the NSW (actually ADR rules) and they were compliant as far as I can tell and the 18s have them anyway. You have to disconnect your oem drls in the Fog light. Rules state only 1 set of DRls permitted. There are 2 globes in the foglight 1 for DRL 1 for fog. You can buy them through Diode Dynamics in USA. Cost me $245 delivered (18 months ago). I installed myself using the keyhole method. There is a separate thread on the Australian forums detailing all you should need to know. You also get the sequential amber indicator in the tribars as a bonus. You also get 2 led parking globes which look better and are needed to balance circuit resistance (or something like that) You can also get multicoloured versions but they are illegal on the streets. You have to remove the front bumper to get to the lights. There are many videos on how to do this. Some professionals also do them for around $800 if I remember correctly. I took it real slow and it took me 3 days but some could do it in a day. It isn't that hard and I like DIY. Go search for the thread If you can't find it then I or someone else will find it but it should be easy enough to find. I don't know how to post links yet ( old guy) haha.

Thank you Bushranger I really appreciate it! it answers both my questions.
I'm gonna need to do some more research especially with balancing circuit resistance..
Excited to see how this is going to look like!

If you go with the Diode Dynamics kit you don't need to worry about the circuit resistance as the replacement parking globes take care of it. Cheers.

OMG your stang looks gorgeous. The white stripe on black looks fantastic!
They are actually silver! The light on this photo makes them look a bit whiter!

They were only illegal in some minor European country and we all paid the price. .
For "minor" European Countries, read "The Entire EU"

There is a document floating about the net which explains why Ford were not allowed to use the tribars as DRLs on the original S550. It's highly complex (and given the EU's penchant for pointless paperwork, it was largely pointless).

With the S550 refresh, the tweaks to the front end allowed the update to be road legal across the EU for Tribars as DRLs....
