Front left suspension creaking?

Just crossed 99k miles on my ‘16 GT Premium and it just started making a loud creaking sound from the left front wheel well when turning left, going over bumps, or starting from a stop. It makes this noise when cold and when warmed up. In reading other threads, it sounds like it might be a lower control arm or a ball joint issue.

Foe those with a similar noise/issue, what ended up being the fix?

Check the strut mount. It has to allow rotation while supporting that corner of the car (on the order of 1000 lbs).

Should be a fairly easy diagnosis with a mechanic's stethoscope or just a long screwdriver held handle to ear and blade to strut mount/tower top.
