Yep, that was at our Chin Motorsports event this past weekend!

We've got another one signed up in April...

Bossing, come out and join us! Apr 2-3.
I was thinking of that Scott, I'll email you. I was supposed to attend the 1/31 hpde at Sebring but I got sick Saturday and had to cancel. :(

Bossing I have off that PCA weekend off but it's also my wife's birthday....maybe I can work in an exciting "birthday" trip to Sebring lol. Between this and the Chin event nice options.

How long you think you're going to stick out these PSS street tires?

Ever thought about working with an instructor?
I have used instructors a number of times including my recent events at Sebring since I didn't frequent that track often. With any HPDE organizers, it is typically required to run an entire event with an instructor if you're either an entry level/novice, or if it's your first time at that specific track even if you're experienced at other tracks.

After I was signed off by instructors at Homestead and PBIR early last year, I now run at those tracks in either intermediate or advance groups. However if I run with a new organizer at those same tracks for the first time with them, they can either qualify me on my first session or they can verify with the other groups I previously ran with who can vouch my skill level at each specific track. Another example is say I have tons of track days or hours at other tracks but then I decide to do Road Atlanta for my very first time... I would likely be required to have an instructor with me and be slotted in the novice group at first. Again since it's my first time at that specific track.

Some groups are more strict than others.... and that's a good thing (strictness that is).

Basically everyone is classified according to experience and driver classification is typically track-specific. For more details here is Chin Motorsports driver categories: http://www.chinmotorsports.com/InsideChinDriver.aspx

Oh yes.... Sebring can bite you. Very very hard. IMO and unless you have years and years of disciplined experience there, it's much better to be conservative than be balls to the wall so to speak... :D

I meant a more advanced instructor for more advanced coaching to improve lap times and ability. As i'm sure you know there's always that really talented guy in a miata passing exotics with 5X the power.

Oh yes but I'm nowhere near there yet at Sebring as I'm still in early development mode. In my last Sebring outing with PBOC, I was with a good friend/advanced instructor who showed me different lines (as opposed to a previous instructor) to take at turn 17, turn 1 and even in the Carousel.... I really like the lines he showed me at Turn 17 though. It helped me put the power down earlier in the GT350 and therefore exit faster. He drives a modded Z/28 on the track there and a 993 Turbo for off-track use.

And yeah even in my Z06, I have given the point-by to more experienced veterans with much less horsepower in their car... :D

One of our chief instructors, Jim P., may be one of the few human beings on earth to have taken a PP GT350R around the full course on a track day, if you want him for some advanced instruction! He's a Mustang guy (has the tattoo to prove it...) Actually, when you bring the GT350 he'll probably approach you asking for a ride :D

Sounds good. Pair me up with Jim for my checkout run if possible. And that must have been back in Oct for the GT350 Track Tour when Chin was also at Sebring that weekend... some of us from this forum were also present for the Track Tour's Mon or Tues sessions. I had the pleasure of driving with and hot lapping with Nick Fanelli. What a fun & informative event that was!

Yep, that's me!

Haven't been to this forum in a while and was very surprised to see this thread.

That video was from my second session in the car. It requires a very different driving style compared to my 03 Cobra and American Iron car. Definitely looking for some more seat time in it. I think I've got another 2, maybe 3 seconds left on the table in stock trim. Though I'm not sure how long that's going to last. :)

Bossing, nice! I was there Monday for The Track Tour (PM session, Red group) with two of our chief instructors, and then came back Tuesday for a second helping (PM session, Red group again).

Mark Schaller brought the cars over on Sunday to shake them down before the event on Monday, which was a pleasant surprise, and he and Jim both drove the Red R in our Happy Hour session in the afternoon on Sunday using the full track. Some drivers were stunned when they saw a GT350R coming up on them!

Even with the crappy audio that GT3 sounds fantastic.
