wicked video, I think the 350 was quicker, understanding neither was 10/10ths
but the Porsche did get sideways out of one of the turns, maybe better driver.
But cool to see, makes you wonder how the R would do?
considering price points, us GT350 owners have to be very happy :)

Very cool video. The GT350 with restrictor plate is down about 120hp?

Grand Sport (GS) - As with all Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge cars, GS class cars start out as stock, production model cars that race with minor modifications only. The GS class contains the top performing cars and include the Aston Martin Vantage, BMW M3, Chevy Camaro GS.R, Ford Shelby GT350R-C, Ford Mustang Boss 302 R, Nissan 370Z, Porsche Cayman GT4 and Porsche 911. The engines are tuned to produce between 350 and 405 horsepower and are cabable of speeds in excess of 160 mph.
Since the Boss 302R makes 444hp stock & is no longer restricted in the class & the 997 GTS makes 408hp stock (these cars make more power on race gas/tunes and no cats), I think that fan guide is not very accurate.

Lines look great to me....though I've never driven on that track. Unless you're at 10/10, there is flexibility with car placement on the track.

It's too bad the wind is masking the FPC sound....but I do love that GT3 scream!!! Wish I could afford one of those too! :D
I love the GT3. If I could ever find an allocation at sticker, I'd grab it in a heartbeat!

The lines where it could have been better taken was the carousel and the hairpin... by erring here, it allowed the GT3 to catch up and pass near turn 8. Easier said than done... I also need to improve at those sectors. :headbonk:

What helps the GT3 be quicker in straights is PDK gearbox, it shifts faster than the best racing drivers and never makes a mistake. :)

improving is always a challenge, you sort out one thing only to find another.
If we were perfect F-1 would be calling us :)
But its half the fun, often you race against yourself more than others.

Makes me want to get back out to Sebring. Thanks for sharing.

Sebring is my home track, I've probably done 1000 laps there. Both drivers were a little off-line, but not horrible and the GT3 guy was slowing way too much in the turns, but I would too if I had my $180k toy out there.

I have a very experienced friend that has a 991-GT3, he's running low 2:20's on his street tires and taking it easy. One of the local pros runs his at 2:16 on street tires.

I got my facts from the IMSA website not from a fan guide.

The biggest difference is the PDK tranny and the tires.

The biggest difference is the PDK, tires, curb weight, braking, road holding, weight distribution and $70K. Looks like the red GT3 is playing with him and can pull away at will. GT350 still wins on most bang for the buck.

This.

GT3 is better at everything but shifting your own gears, and not costing a small house.

Yup. GT3 is da bomb. Seriously though.... it's why it's THE benchmark.

The GT350 is a very nice choice of course and a much less dent in the wallet.

Don't forget aerodynamics. I'm sure the coefficient of drag is less on the Porsche as it has less frontal area.
