Has anyone purchased and installed the ford performance water pump? I need to replace my water pump in my 2015 and was thinking about purchasing the ford performance one but not sure if it helps. From my understanding it’s a gt350 water pump with the pulley pressed at the correct spot for the coyote 5.0.

Stick with OEM stock IMO.

2015-early 2016's experience premature water pump failures due to the plastic impeller coming apart.

This thread not only outlines that issue, but also some M6G members have found the parts store replacements to be similar to the Ford Performance pump w/metal impeller.

I wouid definitley replace the pump with a Ford Performance (or one with metal impeller) over another "factory stock" unit that may have a plastic impeller...

it looks like from the pictures the Ford performance gen 2 water pump has a plastic impeller.

Interesting as there hasn't been any mention of a revised impeller. I wonder if that is a heavy duty composite material that maybe won't implode like the earlier factory assembled plastic impellers?

Has anyone who may be following this thread purchased a Gen 2 FP water pump to confirm the impeller type?

I purchased 1 about a month ago. Car is definitely running cooler, 10-15 avg but to be fair I did do a more involved burp procedure. The impeller is much bigger than the OEM one but it’s still plastic. Came with all hardware and a new pulley. No complaints.

Both. My CHTs are usually within 6-10 degrees of ECT and they are both down & car is happier for sure. Car probably had air pockets & they are gone now but still worth it if you need a new waterpump. Mine had a wobble is why I replaced it.
