I just installed a Ford Performance decklid on my 16 GT. The gap on the drivers side is larger (not much but larger) than the passenger side. I was going to uninstall and try to shift it to the drivers side to even out the gap more. It looks like there may be some fine adjustment ability left and right? Am I nuts thinking it can be adjusted to the driver's side?

I'm sure it can, but it might just drive you even more crazy. Mine is almost as bad and came like that from the factory.

All of them are like that. When I received my 2016, I complained to the sales manager that the trim panel didn't line up well. We walked around the lot and looked at every other Mustang, and they were all completely different - some in, some out, some left, some right. They agreed to replace it and try to align it better. It looked better, but not great. I ended up buying a replacement awhile back and installing it myself, and it looks pretty good, but still, not great.

Yea i'm not expecting perfect, I was just curious if there was slight adjustment ability left and right. If there is, and it SEEMS like there may be, I was going to pull it off tonight and shift some towards the drivers side. It lines up quite well with the bottom of the tail light bezels, its just the vertical gap that is off. Ive seen some pretty interesting gaps and fitment on factory cars on the lot for sure LOL

I agree. It fits great everywhere else except the shown gaps. I am going to take off and shift over and see what/if any adjustments can be made.

Is it one from Ford Performance? Be curious to see its overall width measurement.

It is the one from Ford Performance...I have my stock one still so I may measure and see if there any differences. But what I saw removing it, the holes where the clips snap in to the trunk lid do appear to have some slight right/left movement, so we will see this evening. I'm super pleased with it overall (finish, horizontal alignment). Slight dimple from the hole in the middle, BUT i ordered a howler badge from MFautodesigns so that will cover that over fine.

If it wont adjust tonight, I'm going to return to AM and have them send me an other one (same brand, etc.)

Well it was a pretty easy fix. Loosened the 4 bolts under those small black covers, and tapped on the passenger side with a rubber mallet, moved right over and fixed the issue.
