I took my new to me car cover to the laundry mat yesterday to wash it. I used 1/4 cup of unscented simple green and did an extra rinse. When I stretched it out to dry I saw a bunch of brown spots on the outside of the cover that were not there before I washed it. Anyone know what they are or how to remove them?

Did you throw it in one of the dryers there?

If you did, it’s possible those are burn spots from dryer…

If you didn’t, then it could be from water source at laundry mat, possibly any mix of wash chemicals that everyone uses that may not be compatible with the next or type of material, or someone before you had something in the washing machine that stained everyone else’s wash afterwards…

I have/had the Noah cover. It served me well for 6 or 7 years as an indooor cover even though it is an outdoor one. I recently had to replace it due to the fabric starting to perish.
I noticed that it held a lot of dust in its open pore texture which on machine washing concentrated in folds that would miss out on getting rinsed away. This might be what you are seeing. Give it another wash with dedicated microfiber wash and see if that helps.
