Hi all,

Has anyone installed a front strut tower brace from a LHD onto the Aussie RHD?

I bought one from the states a few months ago and I 'attempted' to install the bar however, it didn't seem to close the bonnet. I've heard that you can grindge some bits off to make the US version fit onto an Australian mustang? Anyone bought a US version and converted to fit onto a AUS mustang?

Al,
I have fitted the brace, I used the angle grinder to delicacy remove enough metal to clear
the K brace (circled) then painted with sliver galmet, as it is behind the mod is not visible from the front. no issues in 5 yrs

Do you have any pics up close from where you modified the brace

Unfortunately I didn't take any pics, I put the brace in place then drew around the K brace contact points, grind away and keep checking the clearance until it fits with out touching.

Al, the Steeda brace went straight on my 18 albeit I did have to use some persuasion to get it on the studs. That is just I guess doing what it is meant to do by keeping the shock towers from moving. I understand that the Mishimoto brace does not fit our cars but that could also be just a case of grinding a bit off.
What brace did you buy?

I got one and added spacers rather than grinding off the back but I believe all the ones being sold by various vendors are modified to fit by grinding. The spacers are painted black and virtually invisible.

Fords of course
I did the grinding method nearly 5 yrs ago also no drama. As above I just fitted it to find out where it touched, grinded then painted the exposed bit silver and presto. I managed to find these in progress pictures

The grinding method looks okay. I did think about that.
