It's good to see that the Australian government is aggressive in protecting its citizens. It sucks when you get a car with obvious flaws and the manufacturer won't do anything for you.

I dealt with this same garbage transmission in a Fiesta I had. Took 3-months, two dealerships, and way too much of my time to get Ford to replace it at 33K. I sold the car and said I'd never buy a Ford again. At 38K I need a steering rack in my Mustang... :( I, for one, am glad that Ford got fined. They deserved it. Toyota, at just under 86K, replaced the torque converter FOR FREE in my Camry on the last week of a TSB... ZERO fight, done in a week, they owned up to a common failure. That's how it's done. Ford should be extended the AC warranty of these Mustangs for non-modified vehicles at least considering how common failures are.

customer service goes a looong way in sales, if they had better service maybe they would sell more cars. its sad that these companys wont hold themselves accountable for their product failures. i wonder how many people have switched to different manufacturers for failure to hold themselves accountable?
