Coming from the electronics/computer/major appliance industry I can tell you this happens all the time. Take major appliances. The business is run on rebates, either to the retailer and/or the consumer. The big box stores already know what the pricing will be for Black Friday. And they all get the same amount. That why there is usually only a few pennies difference between Lowe's, Best Buy, & Home Depot. The manufacturers actually control the pricing. Don't go along with it and you can see your advertising dollars and you allocations go bye, bye. Same goes with TV's, laptops, etc. Honestly it's all smoke and mirrors. Has been for decades.Basically anything you buy right now has corporate or manufacture competition pricing right now.
