I've had the local/selling dealer (15min from home) do all the routine services (supplied my own oil for each, which has been credited). It's booked for 75k service next week. They have done warranty work, software & map upgrades and provided the roadside assist packages.
By & large I've been happy with the work but they have never been competitive on consumables e.g. tyres and brakes.
I've thought about taking the care to CRD where I've had all the mechanical modifications done but its an hour drive.

Yeah I've had all my servicing done by the dealership also (46000km, 4 and a bit yrs old). For the most part I've been happy also, but most importantly go to build a good relationship with them which I think is important especially with warranty claim's and also when shit hits the fan when warranty expires (as is the case 4 me). It shouldn't make a difference but I think it definitely works for you if you have had all your services done there and the relationship is good as they will tend to bend over backwards to help. I also agree that their pricing on other consumerbles such as tyres, brake pads, wiper blades etc is way off the mark, so I go elsewhere for these.

if im not mistaken , ford aus have a capped service at $299, I need to double check whether my car is covered or what is covered, but if its a general maintenance with no add ons, that would be fine for me,
however I have been reading a few other threads of some stories of jobs not being done at all/correctly + silly overpriced add ons
Have never dealt with a ford service department, but I assume tellimng them to service and any other add ons I will get done elsewhere, will be fine, eg, tyres, windscreen wipers, breaks?

Yeah exactly, my capped servicing ended ages ago but they usually will do the service and any extras they will ask before they do it. For some things I'm happy for them to do it despite the premium just because the car is there and others not. So for example the wiper blades needed replacing, they quoted $198 and I did it myself purchasing them elsewhere for $60. Brake pads are another big one, they quoted something stupid like $900 for oem front pads and about 300 rear not including labour WTF..... anyway you can get them from the US posted for about half or go for any number of other brands for less. I went power stop set front and rear for about 380 AUD from US. Don't pay the dealership to install as they are easy to install yourself.
