Not sure what the team at Ford was thinking....
I'm fine with the parts bin car thing. I think it makes a ton of sense to use the proven parts and release a final special version based on them. Not sure what was going on, but if every unique part (and there really wasn't many) should have been critically reviewed and cleaned up. This one is a mess. There should have been a set of air scoops, lights, grill extension and maybe ? for this space. Like getting the ball to the goal line and then running it 3X for no gain and then missing the FG. Stupid if you ask me.

Wondering if we got the B team on this one. A team moved on to the MachE and G7 projects.....

As mentioned earlier, they were thinking that some owners would want additional air flow, others would want lights. So they did what they did for a good reason. Giving the owner a choice without changing them for something they might not want.

The problem is the aftermarket which Ford presumed, rightfully would step in. Well they haven’t yet. Diode Dynamics has been contacted by a number of Mach 1 owners but haven’t heard anything positive yet.

until you have reviewed all of their testing data, you really can't comment on this. don't forget, no matter what engineering came up with it has to pass by the bean counters. air scoops could have introduced too much lift in the front of the car. for all we know there was a cool light solution proposed that an accountant vetoed, or said they needed to get rid of one of the other ideas if they wanted the lights. its easy to beat up the team that brought us this car without actually being in the room where these decisions are made. i wish there had been options as well but if someone wants to add lights or intakes or whatever, go for it. fab it up!
