First Post - Hey

Hi all - first post to this forum. It was mentioned to me that this would be a good place to find info on the Mustang, but also help in tracking orders.

Ordered an EcoBoost Convertible in Jan 2015. Was apparently scheduled for a Sept build date, but after much calling and being ignored by Ford, they finally looked into it and it seems that they lost my order. Now a March build date, and happy to say that after checking my VIN, car is now produced, and on its way to Baltimore (I think)...

Dealer has been really helpful, Ford Aus has been really unhelpful.

Anyway, looking forward to finally getting my car sometime in June I guess.

Also first time poster here. Ordered ecoboost around May 15 changed order to V8 July 15. Build December. Looks like delivery to dealer this week, not that dealer has told me but ship tracking and prixcar tracking based on advice on here has kept me informed

Sucks to hear your story and I'm sure Ford wouldn't like this AU forum since it was almost all one big story of delays, broken promises and failures.

But now people are finally getting their cars and the mood is turning to excited discussion of driving and modding them, so you came at the right time ;)

There is a lot of info on here and it was really helpful in tracking our orders.

It helped to pass the time while waiting but maybe also adds to the anxiety!!

Anyway, after finally taking delivery this week, I can say it was well worth the wait.

Yes, that does not seem at all right.

I'm starting to think I'm not even going to bother tracking mine. If it turns up, it turns up. Supposedly will be built in September, a year after ordering.

I think the issue with not tracking it has been shown pretty clearly by MustangMark above.

Dealerships can lose and order and then what?

I think tracking it is a pretty invaluable tool, as long as you can keep the anxiety at bay haha

Yeah, I know, but I need to stop thinking about it .

My dealer's GT has arrived, so I will be dropping in soon to check it out and have a chat about things.

Dealership didn't lose the order - according to Ford Aus, dealership did everything right, and order was locked in for a Sept 2015 build, but some "system glitch" meant that it dropped out of the lineup and no one picked it up. It was certainly frustrating trying to get an answer for 2 months as to any status update and being given the run around - "No VIN yet, but it should be soon, and that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't in production, just that the system hasn't updated" - rather than someone looking into it properly. But you live and learn.

As said above - tracking definitely worthwhile - if I hadn't have been chasin since November, it still wouldn't be in the system!

Whoa, "system glitch" is all the more reason to stay on top of it!

I asked for and received the VIN this week - so now I have in my (digital) possession the Window Sticker, the ETIS is showing full details (build date was 24/2/16) and I believe it's on it's way. Now I can start the process of getting excited about the car again, rather than completely frustrated with it. It got so bad that last week I actually told Ford and the dealer to cancel the order, I was so over it, til he talked me down off the ledge.

MustangMark, you and I are in the same boat re delivery time frame. Mine was built in 25/2, and should now be somewhere between the factory and the port. If only there was a way to track this stage... I'm watching the WW tracker pretty closely to see when it gets assigned to a ship. Enjoy!
