Pretty sure the confusion is coming from free-revving response VS in-gear response. It (driveshaft) won't do anything for free-revving response.

I had over 50 passes on the car and my 60 foot times were just about identical after I got enough seat time. I took the car to the track twice after I installed the DS and I could not improve my time over my best passes. It was my experience with one. I am not opposed to them, but if I am going to spend a grand on a speed part, it had better show a return with no effort.

p.s. I would not consider a manual car a good candidate for bracket racing where the consistency of an auto with a brake and delay box is what you are looking for.
I have a good method but the MT82 isn't ideal for stick drag racing. I took my best E.T. and took about 8/10ths second off to get a bracket time. At first it helps having a two way radio and spotter checking your times at the 1000' mark. I can run low 11s with slicks but ran a 12.20 dial in both times I bracket raced. I can run regular 12.20-12.22, 5000 rpm launch in 2nd gear, so you shift only 2 times, and depending on the atmosphere conditions and time of year, the last few hundred feet of track make up the rest by speeding up or slowing down. I had a 100 shot just in case I needed it. 15 Years ago I could bracket race within a few 10ths of my best E.T. but I can't shift, feather or side step the clutch like I could back then, and I was using a TK0600. If your slicks lose the sweet spot the 60ft times start to vary (combo of temps and tire pressure).

Curious, how does a ds increase throttle response? Push on pedal, engine revs...never heard drivetrain being part of the equation...?

My experience w/ Al shafts is that they're good for a tenth or so depending on application. Noticeable reduction in NVH, however.

CF ds is too rich for this po' boy.
Less rotational mass has something to do with it.
I also have a lighter flywheel so the combo is really helping spin the engine faster.

I'm not sure why the shift effort was reduced unless something was wrong with my OEM driveshaft - it felt clunky before.

No one has answered. By 'your' (generic - those trying to educate me) definition titanium lugnuts increase throttle response...yes or no? Decreasing vehicle weight increases throttle response...yes or no?

'I' (get it...'I'? Probably not...) work w/ moment of inertia on a daily basis...pretty basic concept. It can be manipulated to reduce the amount of torque required to overcome it, but this doesn't, in my eyes, have anything to do w/ 'response'. Instead these are forces and acceleration.

I guess I see response as a controls (in the engineering sense) function. Acceleration is something altogether different.

There's not going to be much difference in weight between the carbon and aluminum .what you will get with the carbon is a quieter cabin and more importantly more rotational twist which lessens the shock on the drivetrain.
