Hi. I thought I’d ask the brains trust on here.

I’ve got 2017 , gen2 , fully built , 10:1 sleeved motor with stock manifold and injectors. After building the engine it has always burnt oil. Over some months narrowed it down to valve stem seals.
after 400kms it looks like replacing the valve stem seals has fixed my oil burning problem. They where replaced with OEM ford ones when I did the motor but 50% of the cylinders where burning oil. Replaced with viton blue seals and it seems to be perfect. No idea why the ford ones where crap… wrong size or what ever but it is what it is. it was a massive job , with cams in place. But I’m just happy my oil is staying in the engine ATM.

Anyway my main question is , as seen in screen shot. It’s pulling fuel around that -10% ?? Should I be chasing a vacuum leak or something else ???

im assuming that should be around zero in a perfect world ??

going on MAFx1.25 the engine is making 400HP at 6600

I don’t seem to be able to attach data log file here. So maybe I email someone if they want to check it out for me please.

cheers

Tim.

Oil is also a hydrocarbon, and burning it in an engine is less than ideal combustion, so it’s plausible it could’ve been pulling fuel due to that. Incomplete combustion with motor oil can also deposit silicon and other contaminants on the sensor itself as engine oil has anti-wear additives in it. This can skew the accuracy of the sensor too. Your short term fuel trim is at 1 at both banks so likely the tune is fine and it’ll come back into range now that you’re not burning oil.

It would be adding fuel if you had a vacuum leak, because unmetered air enters the combustion chamber, the O2's see a lean condition, then the PCM would attempt to correct by adding fuel.

Is that the factory calibration?

Yep stock OEM tune.

very good points Jake. I’m also running redline complete fuel fuel system cleaner after researching PEA additives for carbon removal. I’m very impressed at how much carbon it has cleaned so far On 1 bottle in a tank.

before and after. You can see the first 2 pics are much cleaner around the valves etc. few more tanks and it should be good.

Just curious, why the lower compression on an NA motor?
