First Chance to Use Snow/Rain Mode

I used it today to drive to work. But i do notice something weird. I noticed that whenever i do put the car in snow/wet mode, and when i get to my destination, there is a strong rubber-burning smell on the outside of the car.

i thought it was a coincidence, but it has happened once too many for me to ignore. Anyone else having same results? Mine is a EB premium with 201A.

Don't know what that could possibly be. STM would prevent any unwanted yaw movements (i.e. rotation) via braking each additional wheel as needed. Even if STM was working overtime to keep your car in a straight line, it doesn't seem like something that would cook your brakes by any stretch. Especially since the snow/wet mode should be cranking up the traction control intervention threshold, which would largely be keeping you in check by limiting throttle opening.

I live north of Boston and if anybodies been following the weather will know we've been getting hammered this past month with snow....broke a record of over 60" in 30 days..and we're getting hammered again today with another 18-24" forecasted.....that being said our car is a DD and YES I like the SNOW/RAIN mode....use it often...works well in snow covered streets....and I live on a hill....even on snow covered hi-ways at 50MPH + I'm impressed

We need it down here in NM! Nearly 70 degrees today... its supposed to be cold here in February! Our mountain snow pack is pathetic... looks like another bad drought year coming...

I thought about the brakes overworking as well, but it was wet this morning at 5:30am, and cold, with patches of slushy snow. So I had it on snow/wet mode. No WOT either. Drove down westside highway in NYC (west side highway is hardly a highway) at speed limit or below (45mph I think). Got to parking garage and there it is! burnt pvc or burnt rubber smell.

I thought it maybe the clutch, but I know what burnt clutch smells like (unless this is a "special" clutch), and unless the clutch was controlled electronically and was doing a weird grinding during snow mode that I didn't know of, I don't think that is is either, as i am very careful not to grind my clutch... too much.

does the car have a viscous limited slip? I was pretty sure it was electronic, which i guess could mean that as I was going up the parking garage, the car was braking on one side? Any case, it is bothering me teeny bit.

Also, the first two days i picked up the car, it was driven on dry road with fair condition (Mid December) with traction control in normal mode, and I remembered smelling it too. Back then, I thought it was just burning off protective finishes or something in/on the exhaust system.

Can't say that I have smelt burning rubber and I've used it quite often...especially these last few weeks...same set up EB Premium with 201A and automatic trans.....
