Congrats, glad you found what you wanted. Lightning Blue is a fantastic color that will continue to grow on you with time. However, I've found trying to capture its true brilliance on a camera is very tough to do!

Awesome choice! Did you trade in the Hellcat for it?
No keeping it for now, though I have contemplated parting with it to free up some cash.

Agreed, I think that is why I was not a fan originally. Photos do not do it justice. It's so much better in person.

I feel like I'm a part of history here. If seen you lurk and post for years, honestly I always assumed you had an s550 of some sort!

At any rate the car looks amazing. Lighting blue is stunning.

Congrats friend.

Very similar situation when I picked up my 2018 eco. Was looking to pick up a GT but stumbled upon a custom order base eco that never got picked up and had everything I wanted (PP, Magneride, A10, 101A). Kona Blue wasn't my first choice (I actually would've preferred LB) but I saw it in person and sealed the deal after I drove it.

You're gonna love it. I'm always giving myself excuses to take her out of the stable.

Congrats your going to love your Ecoboost. If you have 93 octane in your area only burn it and you'll get the maximum performance out of her.

Nice looking car. I almost bought an EcoBoost and am very curious to see what you run at the track!

I saw a LB 2018 the other day, and the appearance was great.

Welcome back, Sam. BTW, 3 out of 4 of your photos were back-lit. If you want us to see it in the sun, you have to re-park your car for each angle to be front-lit!

I think he kept it and this is his daily.

Which leads me to my question, how much gas does this save compared to the Hellcat to justify its cost? (no disrespect at all, its a gorgeous car and I'm sure you love it, but if your primary reason for buying a new car to save some gas money, I don't see how you come out ahead financially). To me its an excuse to buy a sweet new ride, which I would totally do myself :)

The Hellcat was never a daily driver. I don't like to put a lot of miles on it. It's really just a toy and highly impractical. Also I am always tempted to floor it in that thing, I have a lot more self control in this. Surpringly though more people try to race me in the ecoboost. Also I wanted an auto. I don't like driving a manual all the time.

Only 91 here but we do have race gas, I wonder if that would be worth trying once, any ever put a half a tank of 100 in an ecoboost?

Haha, right? I am just an avid mustang fan but wanted to try something else for a while so I gave Mopar a shot. Glad to be back in the saddle though.

I always wondered why our forum Hellcat guy was on here! Hey congrats. LB always looks good.

You don't always need a trillion HP to have fun. I'm not calling the ecoboost slow but sometimes driving a "slow" car fast is helluva lot funner than driving a fast car slow.
Ya I figured it was time I joined you all. I told you I was a mustang fan. Finally put my money where my mouth is.

Another fan of LB EB here. Every now and then when the stars align I get a good photo that almost captures how pretty the color is in sunlight. Keep trying; you'll get there.

Well I finally got into an S550. I needed a more fuel efficient vehicle for day to day, I love the Hellcat don't get me wrong, but that is just a weekend toy and a gas guzzler. I have been looking around for a little while at what I wanted. I considered several econo boxes but at the end of the day I wanted something I can still have some fun in while keeping cost in mind. I really wanted magneride which from my research is a very rare option to find outside of a GT.

I was lucky enough to find what I was looking for. Last Friday I went down to a dealer across town that had a base Ecoboost, 101a, PP, A10, w/ magneride. Yes I found my Unicorn. The only option I couldn't get was Orange Fury or Royal Crimson. Instead I had to settle for Lightning Blue. Well let me rephrase, settle is not the correct term. I ended up falling in love with the color. It is absolutely gorgeous. I honestly never considered it. I am usually one for the look at me colors but man this thing is beautiful when the sun hits it. Its subtle but at the same time stands out. It is the best compromise I have ever made.

This thing will scoot, and I was pleasantly surprised. I must say that drag mode is addictive. The handling is vastly better than the HC, turns where I would kick out the tires stick like glue in this car. I don't have a lot of hard numbers and I have not put it through the paces yet, most of that reason is cause my wife likes it as much as I do and has taken it the past three days lol. She can't drive a 6 speed so she has never driven the HC so this is her first time driving a sports car. This is my first automatic sports car and so far I am digging it.

In my search of info about the 18 Ecoboost, info was scarce as far as reviews and owner impressions, track times etc... Most of what I saw was for the GT. Well if anyone has any questions, let me know. I plan on taking it to the strip either this weekend or next, not certain yet. I will also be taking it to autocross this weekend. I will do what I can to get some numbers and comparisons if possible.

Sorry for the lengthy post, I just really love this car and wanted to share my story thus far. I look forward to contributing more to this community.

Congrats Dude.

You did not settle!! I wanted Blue. But since I bought used, I settled and got Gray.
