Yea smog thing is BS specially for a new car, what a complete waste of time.

CA DMV is incompetent as fuck. I ordered custom '60s legacy plates back in november, I called yesterday and was told that they now take 4 months to make. I believe icormba ordered plates before ordering a GT350. Guess which he got first? CA DMV IS USELESS!!
I think I might order those plates as well, I am cool with just running dealer plates anyway for awhile. I could not find the plate screws in my car anywhere so I guess I need to find those to.

Haha I bought my F350 2 years ago and still have not put on the plates.

Don't worry about it bro, I have no plates in the front and its been that way since new in May 2013. Just leave the dmv sticker on the bottom of the windshield. :ninja:

I ordered custom legacy plates for my bike so maybe that's why they are taking so friggen long to make.

Thanks man! Soon, I need to get this lame Ca DMV stuff taken care of. I will let you know.
Don't wait too long. DMV tried to add a $800 late registration fee to my already large total of $5800 something. Late fee because the title transfer from Ford to my dealer and then to me was a month before I actual got my car here in CA. I was actually able to talk them out of it. oh, and congrats!!!

Mine is opposite, I got my car Tuesday. Waiting on the paperwork from the dealer. I am going today for the smog so I have that ready to go. I got 140 miles on it so I should be good.

And thanks!

The DMV assumed it was in California from the date my dealer transferred the car to my name, which was printed on the Ford Title. I had to talk with the DMV Supervisor on duty.

By the way, their technical term for out of state cars with 8 miles on the OD is... "Oh, this is a New New Car as opposed to just a New Car".
