Despite all the "hype" about the enhanced fuel economy and performance the 2.3 EB I4 is (supposed) to have over the 3.7 V6, the truth is that the naturally aspired V6 gets similar real-time MPG and similar if not better performance! I personally predict that the EB 2.3 I4 will eventually become the "Base" Engine and a newer High Performance EB 3.5 V6 will replace the Coyote 5.0 V8 (except) for limited production Performance labeled Editions.

True Value!

All this "buzz" about the S550 2015 Mustang "Base" V6 Convertible being an "el-cheapo" Rental Car filler is pure BS! Adding the 051A Package and having a nicely equipped Roadster for an MSRP of 32K? I call that a Grand Slam Home Run Bargain! I have no issue with those that Opt for the "Premium" EB 2.3 I4 or GT 5.0 V8 Fans but the (value) is in the Base V6 Vert!
I'm one crazy Dude...must be crazy to trade a 2013GT convertible in to get the new 6G V-6 convertible. Started to buy the loaded out GT vert but noticed the V-6 vert for $14,000 less. So glad I chose the V-6... It's a terrific value. I didn't need all the "bells and whistles", especially knowing how much money I was saving. This V-6 vert is one of my favorite Mustangs...and I've owned 9 previous GTs.

Right. It'll be a shame if/when this affordable pick-me-up is no longer available. Glad I got mine when I did.

If the v6 does eventually get phased out completely in the next couple years, do you think the value of the model will slightly increase?

Who knows but I would think it would take 30 years for these cars to see an increase in value due to the shear production numbers.

^ Yes it just might because it's such a dependable engine. I wouldn't bet that the V-6 will be phased out anytime soon. It sells...and besides, for 50 years Mustangs have been sold with naturally aspirated six cylinder engines. The cyclone is nowhere near dead.

Much like Mark Twain allegedly had stated, "My demise and death was much exaggerated and a bit premature" or something along those lines, much like Ford`s exiting of its V6 in at least its North American market. Now if they would only offer the EB "noise enhancement chip" as am Option, to us Base V6 buyers, lol.

phil1336, you are one funny Dude! And for there being 6 cylinder motors in Mustangs, Mark Twain also said, "History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme"! Long live The Cyclone V-6!

Another S550 3.7 review by Autonet:

"In the 2015 Ford Mustang V6, less is truly more. A couple less cylinders results in more nimble handling, better fuel economy, cheaper insurance premiums and a lower purchase cost. It's difficult to resist the allure of the 435 horsepower V8, but if efficiency and affordability rank high on your priority list, the V6 Mustang is your ticket to driving enjoyment."

Probably the most direct review I've come across yet.

"The V-6 Mustang is your ticket to driving enjoyment." So ends the review mentioned above ^...this is the most positive review that I've seen. Take heart cyclone motor-heads,
there's a lot of common sense in our choice of the capable V-6. That review points out our good sense in purchasing the V-6 Mustang and how it saves dollars and cents!
