So I saw a forum post where someone said they felt wrapped the glove box to keep noise down from object and it looks nicer and I was considering felt wrapping the hard plastics, like where the cup holders and the shifter is at.

I figure I'll have to cut a stencil first, then cut the felt , measure and cut again and then cut a sheet of 3M double sided tape to match then apply.

I've never measured an interior surface for a stencil before. The person who did it mentioned making a cardboard cutout, does anyone have any recommendations for this?

I was the one who wrapped the inside of my glove box with sticky felt. Since my project is only visible when open I didn't care too much about aligning everything to be perfect. I was thinking about using light cardboard to get the exact mock up, then placing that over felt cut the needed size for the job. With the center console shell being removable, you can pull it out and experiment with fitting the material. I think it can look pretty good if done right.

Here's a general guide on how to remove the shell. Should make things easier once it's out of the car.
