So I have a 16’ GT, and i’m thinking of going FBO. Right now I have a JLT, and a Flowmaster Outlaw. I’m thinking of getting headers next if not a new IM, if any of you have gone FBO, is there anything you recommend, and how much were the gains. I know people say Kooks are pretty good, but I want several inputs. Thoughts?

If your going FBO, get an 18+ manifold, they give virtually the same gains as a GT 350 manifold does for a third of the cost and you can keep your engine cover if you'd like. Long tube headers are expensive for a quality set, but well worth the cost. Gains are around 20 whp, but you get gains across the entire rpm range not just the top like many keyboard jockeys claim. Look up engine masters and Richard Holdener on youtube. They have plenty of dyno tests of different headers and exhaust manifolds that will back up that claim There are others, but I just watch those two.

EDIT; Just about all LTH brands use 1-7/8" primaries, just pick a quality brand that meets whatever metric you want to adhere to.

B.T.W. most top brands with high flow cats run ~$1600 to $2000 so choose accordingly. I chose stainless power (the economy brand of stainless works) because they were 500 cheaper. They are the exact same build quality, 16 gauge 304 stainless, but only have a 2 year warranty vs lifetime.

Yes I did some research and did see that people were saying 18+ manifolds were the best bet. I’ll definitely take a look at those youtube channels and see if there’s anything that I can something from. I kind of figured for top notch LTH it would be around that price range, and I want the perfect thing cause I mean it’s not a little bit of money. I’m gonna take a look and see what I can gather from the vids, and check out what you said about stainless power. Thanks !

BTW when i end up deciding i’ll post back here so you can know and tell me if I messed up haha.
