Well Ford is saying the noise is normal. Not sure how loud grinding metal sounds is "normal" but the dealership is not authorized to do anything for me as of today. Wonderful.
UGH that's not good news. I have this issue too, haven't taken it into the dealer yet because it only happens very randomly. At first I thought it was a dust shield bent up touching the rotor because it was such a loud metal on metal grinding sound but they all seem to be OK. I am mostly afraid it will come back when the weather gets warmer.

It's extremely easy for me to reproduce. I actually dread driving in any traffic lately because it's so easy to come up.

Maybe take it to another dealer? if your noise is the same as mine it is NOT "normal high performance brake noise". Also this might sound silly but if you have some time throw it up on jacks, take the wheels off and really check the calipers for rocks/debris I have had the issue before where a small rock got stuck and it made a somewhat similar ungodly noise. That was one of the first things I checked.

Thanks bud. I'm going to do all of the above. I have to change my wheels over for winter in the next couple weeks anyhow. Plus I'm not crazy about the dealership and how they responded. Especially when I was very descriptive of the issue. This is not a normal sound and shouldn't be written off as "performance brakes" noise. I've driven multiple cars with more high usage pads and never had this sound.

My brakes were brutally loud for the first three to four months, and now, with an occasional exception, they are silent (no grinding, nothing). I guess the materials just need extra break-in time.

I'm at 7k miles and I've had the car since May. I'm pretty sure they are broken in at this point... [emoji23]

there were times i could reproduce it quite easily after a 45 minute ride in the summer. that was at 13k miles in 80 degree weather.

now that its a little cooler, and at 19k miles, i havent heard a peep

Well it can't be moisture because it only happens after I have been driving for a while, usually to work (20 miles). Whatever, I know every issue any mustang has is "normal". Your car burnt to the ground? Oh that's normal...

Here is video of my brake grind

I get that same exact noise.. Thought it was just me and my luck... Murphys law is strong with me. If its going to break, malfunction, or something "abnormal" it happens to my car. Already had my rear tires replaced at 7K (fronts are still 90%). I am 45 and drive normal. Had wind issues, had radio issues, brake issues, body panel alignment issues.... Don't get me wrong, love the car but wish I knew of the TSB's before spending $$ out of pocket replacing Fords problems.
