Factory GT spark plug gaps

Getting them out is not as bad as trying to thread them in...
Slip a piece of hose over the end of the plug and snake it down into the hole and gently twist the hose until it threads in place. Pull off hose, insert socket.

Mine were at .058...ish


Reset them to 0.48 and the car felt better in the upper RPMs.

Off topic on a necro post, but I'll bite... I traded in my 05 GT on a 17 GT right before it hit 100k miles. Part of the reason was the spark plug design and known TBS issue. I changed the coils at about 80k just to keep the plugs firing strong. I never had issues, but I didn't want to have to change the plugs in the future. That two piece design was a factory flaw that was supposed to be fixed in 07, but people still had issues. Ford does make mistakes in designs and never goes back to help those owners. Sometimes you just have to know when to sell before it bites you. I did love that car, but it was just a matter of time before a plug fouled.

'05 through '07 used a spark plug that had a barrel section hanging below the threads and that section would build up carbon and get stuck in the cylinder head. When they were left in too long the barrel section would break off in the head upon removal. The trick is to remove them once in a while and apply anti seize to the barrel section.

I have no idea of you just mentioned barrel that causes carbon build up, hopefully your spark plugs got swapped and no damage caused to your engine. I have a 2015 GT with 10K miles on it. Please see the picture attached took when I do the gap thing. Now all sparkplugs gaped to 0.50 evenly and did feel a little smoother on 2000rpm. Before, the car shakes pretty bad at this rpm. Is my sparkplug looks any like yours? Also want to know what do you think the gunk on the threads? There isn't a lot of carbon built up on the cylender head but only on threads.
