While annoying my wife, we discovered the center console locks when the doors are locked. It cannot be opened uless you hit the unlock button. Thas a nice little added feature. So some one can break into your car, but still would have to break into you center console or glovebox. Pretty awesome. Just thought i would share.

I believe that is part of the enhanced security option.

Yes this is the reason I feel confident to leave my wallet in the car when I park.

Mine is base but it does have the security package. I was wondering what features that added. I didnt build this car. I picked it so there were a few options i didnt need but it still had them.

Enhanced Security Package is standard with convertibles, I didn't know how this featured work but discovered how it did a month ago.

Yes it locks, but it locking a plastic console, don't store the crown jewels in it

I think the same holds true for the footwell fuse box.

Enhanced Security package:

Locking center console
Locking steering column (30 - 90 seconds after exit)
Tilt alarm
perimeter sensors - different alerts for vehicle to vehicle contact, vs attempts to open door.
"all sensors" - this includes interior sensors that detect if anything enters the cabin it goes off.
locking lugs

I'm pretty sure it just locks the center console. I have never heard mention of electronically locking the glove box. I believe it only locks with the one metal key you got. The spare keys in the FOBS work as well i the glove box lock.

Ya i was just reffering to the fact that they lock. I never tested whether it was electric or not.

Another reason I'm glad I didn't get the security option. I keep my gun and sunglasses in there and need access at all times. Believe me, a scumbag crook will just break the crap out of your console or glovebox to get what's inside and you not only lose what's inside, but end up with a broken car.

What are you talking about? It's always unlocked if you're actually in the car.

And if you're that worried about "scumbag crooks" breaking into your car, you should probably move. I've never had a car broken into in my life.

And he said it locks when the doors lock. My doors lock the moment I hit 5 mph and stay locked. That doesn't stop a brick from breaking your window in a protest blocking the roadway.
