Exterior badge removal - CS

Has anyone removed the tri/pony badge on the front of their California Special? I want that clean look up front and it looks like the front bumper cover needs to come off to get access to the badge.

Once there how does the badge come off? Snap some plastic tabs, remove some screws, clips? Is it attached to just the grill or is it attached to anything else?

it is bolted on the grille with some speed nuts, so you need a small ratchet and socket and find a way to get your arm down in there. It is covered somewhere in the S550 mustang photo california special thread.

I have recently purchased a California Special Grill without the emblem. I bought the oem emblem but it just comes with an adhesive backing and no mounting hardware. I cannot find the part number or even a picture or diagram of the mounting method. The emblem has two guide pins on the back but they are just 1/4" if that. It looks like it is supposed to be glued to a mount. Can you offer any insight? Does yours appear the same?

This is what I am looking for. The pony emblem is attached with adhesive. I cannot find a part number for this mount.
