Well, I am going to have to program my car. I have nitrous that I will be adding here before too long, and I am wanting the lope tune again when it comes back out through BAMA. With all that being said, I was wanting to get prepared for it. I pulled my SCT X4 from my 2000 and bought tunes for it. Just got my first tune wallago, but had to send another email off for my catback since it will be here tomorrow. Is there absolutely no way to clear the counter? I had read somewhere that people were tuning it back to stock, then driving it 50 miles before taking it into service.

I don't have many connections at the dealer, so I don't know how it would be if I was to need something done to my car at the dealer.

I have been talking with Adrian from MAK. I am a little more at ease with their product. He was telling me that they can leave the delete pipes a little longer so that the downsize to 2.5 on the catbacks can be cut off and bolted up to their delete pipes so that it is a full 3" exhaust. He also told me that I can get an additional flange to weld onto the cat, so that when the car is eventually traded in or taken in for warranty, one could throw the cat back on and bolt it up. This eases my mind a bit, because if I was to trade it in at a later time, I would have to leave the exhaust on and the car tuned so there would be no light. This way, I could pull the exhaust back off, and throw the cat back on and not be out so much money.

Yes you are cutting the exhaust at this point still, but at least one can bolt the cat back on.

From a SVC writer friend of mine who works in a Ford service dept..

They cannot tell exactly "what" it was, but they can tell the ECU has been reflashed. Each time it's flashed it leaves a counter, be it from Stock to tune or tune to stock.
This is correct. They then run the counter past your service records. If a Ford service department hasn't reflashed your ECU...prepare for them to try and void the powertrain warranty.

That's so dumb...So what is the bypass? Apply 24 volts to all pins on the ECU or what? lol. I don't expect to have any issues, but one never knows. Sort of a scary thought then you stop and think about it. I'm more afraid of flashing my car than I am about hacking the exhaust up lol

haha! My luck I would be buying a motor and ECU! I have to say, I am kind of skeptical about running nitrous now.

All tuners "hack" the ECU of a vehicle.

I'm to understand that O2 deletes trick the ECU in thinking everything is okay, which could be a bad thing.

I had chipped my 03 for a time, don't know if you can do that on the 15s.

You will be happy with the Stainless Works Xpipe.. I got one from Beef and I couldn't be happier with it! I plan on getting the catted headers with a short section of pipe to replace the cats so that I can swap them back in if ever need be. I'm not a fan of Magnaflow and never have been, go read the review section if your on the fence.

While you're at it, look in to the Lund tunes.. Top notch and you can get them from Beef as well.

You forked at the dough for that spanking brand new car so treat it well!

Yea well u need to read some of the post of the sw system, still alot of undetermined facts with that system, and magnaflow speaks for itself. And again I was really looking into sw but to many unanswered questions.

Well I got my exhaust and just got it installed....first impressions is its pretty quiet compared to my 12 that I had...however it had muffler deletes and no cats....I'm getting ready to order the mac deletes but I doubt my gf will let me have em till Xmas. So with that being said I hope it makes it quite a bit louder.

No u cant chip the 15, that was before obd2, but is the same concept. They just reflash ur tune now.As far as the 02 sensors being tricked, they do this to the downstream 02 which only tell u how well your convertors are working.Your upstream 02's are the ones that controlyour air fuel and other important parameters.

Weight savings from stock GT exhaust to S.W. H-Pipe is 26.8 pounds, according to my fairly not cheepo bathroom scale. Stock was 75.6 and S.W. was 48.8.

I went back through the posts and maybe missed it; what exhaust did you end up going with?

It seems to me that it has. Not a huge difference but somewhat noticeable.
