So after I put on my axle backs, and fought (and won) the drone battle by having helmholz resonators put on (thanks Zack!), I had a rattle that was very noticeable when I was in sport mode and decelerating. At first I thought this was a transmission problem, so I brought it in to my dealer.

They checked it out, and were able to duplicate it on the rack, and said that it was from my exhaust, and sounded like welding slag rattling in the pipes.

OK, not what I thought it sounded like, but easy enough to check out myself except that I had the muffler guys weld the axle backs on. :headbonk:

So Friday I brought it to the muffler guys, they had me sit in the car while on the lift, and I revved the engine to about 3000 rpm, then back to idle. Everytime I got the same rattle. They goofed around and figured out that the sound was actually coming from the resonator suitcase and most likely a broken weld on the interior.

This makes a lot more sense to me. If it was slag, I would expect it to change as it moved around. This noise was way too consistent.

So today, I'll try to get it in to the dealer again and see what they say...

I just wanted to see if any one else had problems, and also to document this for posterity.

Now that i think about it, i do have some sort of rattle/ noise coming from my car. It also happens on decel but i always thought it was the rear gears making some sort of noise...
