I have a 3 inch downpipe, into an 2.5 inch y pipe.

After the y pipe it’s oem piping 2.25 on both sides, to my axle backs, the axleback is also 2.5

So 3 dp to 2.5 y to 2.25 pipe to 2.5 axle

Do you think I should replace the 2.25 oem pipe with 2.5 so its 2.5 from downpipe fully? I figure the pressure going from high to low to high could cause interference in flow

But it’s also past the Y so the 3 inch pipes gas is split in half and may not be bottle necked anyway

Not sure if it would sound or perform any different with full 2.5 or with the 2.25 in line

My set up
Cvfab catted 3.0 downpipe
Roush y pipe 2.5
Oem piping 2.25
Awe Axle back 2.5

Not sure about any potential flow interruption, however what about sourcing a GT takeoff system to replace everything 2.25 in size. Should be a very cost effective option.

Didn’t think about that at all.

I only need 2 sections. Gt is 2.5 I assume? Should be exact same as eco routing under car

Yes 2.5 inch. This is the route I am taking. 3” catted down pipe to y-pipe. No resonator. The rest would be all GT including the mufflers as I want it to remain quiet. The hardest part is getting it home as I do not have a truck. A sawsall should fix that issue. Also the GT muffs flow pretty well.

I ran a 3" downpipe into a MBRP Race series 2.5 catback and loved it. Sounded great and made great power with my Vargas Stage 3 Turbo. Full 3" on a ecoboost is too loud but the 2.5 is perfect in my opinion, but for sure run a 3" downpipe as well.

I found out my pipe was 2.25 instead of the advertised 2.5 but I installed it a year ago, so cant return it. I cut out the y pipe, made it 3 inch from DP to a 2.5 dual split, and those go to my axle backs. turned out well.

Good call, I bet it sounds mean.

hold on I have a video. I want to get a better video, but this was the initial video. im trying to load Cobb stage 3 on my car, but its not playing well with my FP tune, and I dont have the stock as built file, so going to have to pay $100 to flash to stock at dealer to install Cobb after. zzz

I like that it is quiet still cruising, but man she's Nasty when opened up. like twice as loud maybe triple than before. its deep too. AWE axleback is doing a good job preventing droning while cruising. oh wot im not sure if its droning or just loud. but its WAHHHHHH lol but no vibrations etc at cruising 2k @ 70mph

Ive always wanted a little popping, but not a burble tune even though I think they can be cool. But off acceleration, if I just touch the gas, like barely even a touch, it'll do some poppies and burbles, like you hear off the WOT. mainly in 2nd ive noticed. I like those, but anymore I wouldn't like.

I had a Lund Racing tune on mine and it was awesome. Made great power and the Ngauge was easy to use and doubled as an actual gauges to moniter my AFR, boost and temps. We sell them here at @LethalPerformance. If you want you can give us a call and we can get you taken care of on more parts for your ecoboost. tel:1.877.253.8425
