Exhaust leak fixes?

I have a couple ideas, but am looking for suggestions on the best way to fix exhaust leaks. I have deemed it to be coming from the connection between the header connection pipe (not sure what exactly it's called) and the midpipe. I tested it using the soapy water method. Have tried re-seating the connection and tightening the clamp down but it did not work.

They make high heat exhaust gasket stuff and pipe on pipe clamp putty sealant

Better clamps or take it to a shop and have them weld it up.

I was trying to stay away from welding if at all possible.
