I think we could have a chance: I obtained an homologation for 17'' wheels on my Ford Cougar with relative ease. Just asked for an authorization at Ford (via fax) and went through the necessary paperwork at the "Motorizzazione". Then the new size was added to my car documents.Don't know if it's the same, but here in Italy we need that the size of wheels and tires we want to use are reported in the car's documents. If they are not there, we can't use it (unless we want to proceed with a new DMV homologation, which is a PITA and 99% not approved).
Also, wheels size is a check done by police every time they stop you..
Anyway, I personally will stick with the 19'' wheels: they will be enough for me!
