Hey everyone just posting my build on here as I had a very basic build going and then ran into some pretty big hurdles (this is ongoing now) getting the car where I want it
71125BCF-1F49-40A0-9149-1D88F4B10FA2.jpeg

The day I got the car. Mid January 2022. Traded in my silverado for this. I had a 16 GT and really missed it.

Things got out of hand right away. I ordered a 2650 and a fuel system.

Found a decent price on some local Beadlocks and tires.

I had ordered the stage one supercharger kit and found this for sale on this forum as I wanted to run a different airbox as I was going to run a bigger throttle body.

Picture of the tires mounted. This was a pain in the ass to get done on new tires and by myself.

Wheels mounted and Eibach lowering springs on.

Found a cheap PP wing that was the same color and threw it on ASAP. I love the look.

Found a great deal on headers on the forum and decided to get them

Kong 112mm throttle body came in. This thing is huge.

Install began and took longer than expected as I did headers, supercharger and fuel system in my lovely(pain in the ass) driveway.

Car was tuned on e85 and made great power. Estimating close to 750ish? Not the fastest, but fast enough. Love the way the car looked here.

Took the car to the track. FIRST PASS this happens. Spun into the wall due to liquid on track.

I was told by multiple people to “go through insurance” but that’s just straight up fraud and stupid. I knew what I got myself into, so I’ll get myself out of it. So here’s my rebuild thread! More pics of the carnage

Yeah, I figured I was going to go down the thread & eventually get to where the engine blew or you got side swiped. Glad it is going well, but title threw me off.

I’ve been so busy with work I completely forgot to post the rest of the thread. I’ll see if I can get a chance in the next few hours. There’s a LOT to repair lol.

Man, I was getting more and more excited as I went down the thread and then BAM.

Agree with the power above; what is there to repair? This looks like a write-off; salvage title?

Yea, this car is gonna get repaired. It’s a SLOOW repair as it isn’t my main priority, but it’s gonna get back on the road hopefully. I’ll be doing this myself and not planning on trashing it or scraping it. I’m considering front clipping the car with a clip from one that was rear ended, not sure on that though. I know it’s going to be a long road ahead.

Update on this. I found a decent price on some parts and have them slowly stockpiling in my garage for repairs once I get everything in. Ordered frame rail/apron assembly, radiator support and fenders. Engine comes out in a few weeks, then frame shop!

You’re making progression, that’s all that counts. Gather what is needed and doing the repairs right the first time around is the way to go, no matter how long it takes.

Wow. You must have been making some steam when you hit the wall, because that unibody is doing a good banana impression. Ambitious project!
