The struts are installed with the specific angle based that the bonnet rises normally (front wise).

The deployment safety feature works exactly the opposite: the bonnet rises from the back. Correct?

I'm not sure that struts can work both way at the same time. It is very possible to block the bonnet rises backwards.

I'm not sure again. I have to look it in person to figure it out. Needs some study.
They are struts which means they expand when not under pressure. On top of that they are hinged on both ends (one end to the fender, the other end to the hood). So really even the hood were to lift up half a meter on the firewall side they would still move along just fine. It's simple geometry

Quicklift Elite Hood Struts installed yesterday.

Very easy to mount. Took about 20 min.

Thanks for the picture. I think it further demonstrates how the struts would simply move along just fine when the hood is raised when the active hinges are activated.

Quick question though, is there no battery cover on the EU models like there is on the US version? I seem to remember the video instruction for installing the struts states that you have to drill a hole in the battery cover to mount the left side strut.

What happened to the plastic Battery Cover?
Did your EU Spec car come with a Battery Cover?

Well, i have today installed the quicklift hood strutvElite and all i can say is, they work perfectly!
Could you please confirm your car has the "deployable hood" and that the struts installation does not interfere with deployable mechanism. Or are the deployable hoods only on RHD cars and not EURO LHD cars. Thank You

They way the bonnet are mounted, when hit, the back raises (front stays down) and the hinges are simply following along.

The battery cover I mounted back after this pic (see below). Drilling a hole would mean that every time you want to get to the battery, the hinge would have to be taken off. I removed a rectangular shape from the cover, like many others have done.

Mounted after pic was taken. See pic below.

How can I confirm that?

The struts should not interefere with it as the bonnet would raise at the back, the new struts simply follow along as they are quite long when fully deployed.

Pic when all completed...

This is going to be interesting for us that drive on the correct side of the road.:D:lol:

I'm thinking the battery and the brake resovoir will have to be the other way around:shrug:..

Thanks Patrik for the photos! The struts are definitely needed.. what stupid cost cutting is this
Now you need to remove the '70s metal rod :D

Deployable hoods is in our LHD cars too. Ford mentioned they had to obey euro pedestrian safety regulation and don't install hood vents, so this is for the pedestrian hitting the hood when it raises.

This is going to be interesting for us that drive on the correct side of the road.:D:lol:
It's only a matter of perspective :clap2:

Am I the only one who likes the '70s rod? All gas struts have ever done on me is fail, whether it be my tailgate closing on my head or an airplane door not closing properly ;)

I like the idea of the old bar. More traditional. I also wish that the interior was more basic.

Nicely designed but no flat screen, like a 90s BMW. Functional, looking good and far far less to go wrong.

Being an aircraft engineer , I have found both struts and rods will fail or drop on you equally.
But for the mustang the rod doesn't bother me at all, as a matter of fact, of the two 2015 mustangs I have looked over at dealer viewings, I didn't notice the rod at all when looking at the engine.

To my eyes it looks rediculous the bar especially for 2015 car.

Whoever likes classic things interior/exterior buy a 70's mustang not a 2015's.

2015 Mustang despite the myth, is a pure modern car, with high tech interior design with a lot of modern technology gadgets.
This bonnet bar is at least off reality.

I do believe the S550 has the balls to become a classic though! IMO it's already a classic!
