ess griptech pulleys

thinking about grabbing some griptech pulleys for next year. what do you think will not slip on a standard 6 rib application? i have an ess 115mm now and if the belt is slightly worn itll slip pretty rough. i was just thinking of a 110mm for now but im not too sure how much can these pulleys grip on a 6 rib.

from what i hear griptech is the "grippiest" but i have no experience with all this.

Yes, I believe some other guys run down to 87.5mm w/ the griptec pulley without issues.

Slipping in 115 sounds like something is wrong. That's not normal

Just a normal gates black belt.

Maybe try seeing why you're getting belt slip. If something is loose. Idle pulley going bad... Etc etc

you gotta tighten the belt down like a mo fo…your usual tight before the blower is not tight enough!

I even had to go down a belt size

whenever i changed my belt i just looseened it up and got the belt around the pulley then just let it go. am i doing something wrong there?

Loosened what up? You shouldn't have to loosen anything, save the tensioner pulley for last.

I think he means loosened the belt up. With the tensioner pulley... Most people change a belt the same way unless they absolutely have zero idea about anything they're doing under a hood. Lol.

Not using the tensioner pulley to change a belt would be almost impossible to put a belt on with normal tension.

the tensioner pulley yes my mistake i was clear enough lol i turn it counter clockwise enough to get the belt off and route everything back up with the new belt till i have just the 115mm pulley left. loosen the tensioner again to get the belt on there and once its on the ribs and make sure its all lined up properly i release the tensioner pulley and thats it.

Thats all you can basically do. I'm not sure if these cars have anything you can actually tighten on the tensioner. I've never seen one where you can "tighten" anything. It's spring loaded and it is what it is. Wingnutt may know.
Now there may be an aftermarket tensioner that has a stiffer spring in it, that may help keep the belt tighter, but I don't know. Something to look in to.
From what I see, you are doing everything correct and might want to look at the other pullies or go through and re-tighten everything back down. Seems odd to have belt slip with your set up.
